FAQ

Practical answers about MESHCORP characters, their files and licensing, and Dreadnought.

CHARACTERS

Commissions and the store

What if our studio needs several characters?

Use the Studio + Volume Orders path on the Services page. Send one written brief with roster size, target dates, Unreal version, technical standard, and approval owner. MESHCORP will structure the work in writing and only propose a call when the scope genuinely needs one.

Does one character really use one texture set?

Usually, yes. A complete character uses one coherent PBR texture set. A standalone prop or genuinely modular piece can receive its own set, but we do not split a body into arbitrary head, torso, and leg materials just to inflate a specification.

Are editable source files included?

The $300 base includes the editable production Blender scene with the delivered rig, plus FBX and textures. MESHCORP tools, scripts, prompts, generation projects, caches, and reusable pipeline components are excluded.

Are premade characters exclusive?

No. Premade characters in the store are licensed to multiple buyers. A commissioned character is the exclusive option: after final payment, MESHCORP does not resell or recommission that character.

What if I need changes after delivery?

Report technical defects within 14 days and MESHCORP will correct qualifying issues at no charge. New props, redesigns, outfits, and other creative changes are separately quoted as a linked paid follow-up job, so the accepted delivery and approval history stay unchanged.

INSTALL GUIDE

Installing your asset pack

Every character ships as a drop-in asset pack for Unreal Engine 5 — not a full project. Installation takes about a minute.

  1. 01

    Download both files

Your MESHCORP Asset Library provides the character ZIP and its installation guide. Keep both with your project records.

  2. 02

    Open the included project

Extract the ZIP with its folder structure intact. Use the installation guide to open the included Unreal project and locate the character assets; paths vary by character and release.

  3. 03

    Migrate into your project

From the included project's Content Browser, select the character folder and use Asset Actions → Migrate. Review the dependencies and select your target project's Content folder. Do not drag loose .uasset files between projects.

  4. 04

    Retarget animations

Follow the delivered skeleton and the package guide when retargeting your animation set. Test the supplied skeleton, physics, materials, and quoted features before replacing the original setup.

Compatible with UE 5.x. Source files, when ordered, arrive alongside the pack in their own folder and are not required in your project.

DREADNOUGHT

Self-serve model optimization

Automatic retopology, UV unwrap, and texture transfer for your own models. Now in early-access beta.

OPEN DREADNOUGHT →

How does Dreadnought work?

Sign in with your email and upload a model. A free file check shows what it supports. Choose an approximate triangle target from 500 to 80,000, whether to unwrap UVs, and which texture outputs you want, then confirm the token cost and run it.

What can I upload?

One FBX with its texture images, or a ZIP containing them: up to 512 MB and 3 million triangles. Organic models work best.

Will it keep my textures and animation?

Textures can be transferred to the new mesh when your model’s UVs, materials, and texture images allow it; the file check shows which outputs are available. Rigs, animation, shape keys, and procedural materials are not carried over.

Can it rig my model?

Yes. Unreal Auto Rig costs $20 per character, separate from tokens. It can rig an eligible unrigged humanoid as uploaded. If the model needs retopology first, download the finished FBX and upload it for rigging separately. A model check comes before payment; the rig delivers an Epic Mannequin FBX and import guide.

Start Auto Rig →

What do I get back?

A preview of the finished model before you download anything. Each download is a ZIP with the model in one format (FBX, OBJ or GLB, as that result supports) and the texture maps you chose; another format is a separate download. Finished results stay available for at least 60 days.

What does it cost?

Model processing shows its exact token cost before submission; the 500 welcome tokens cover your first models. Unreal Auto Rig is a separate $20 purchase per character and uses no tokens.
